Welcome to the Urban Profile T-shirts Weblog

    Tell your story!

Please tell everyone about your experiences and things that have happened when you were wearing one of our T-shirts.  I’ll kick things off with a few experiences of my own:

There’s one T-shirt I don’t wear very often anymore: Have You Hugged a Black Man Today.  Not because I don’t like the design, but because I get too much attention - at times when I’m not looking for it.

When I wear the shirt, I love the reactions I get. The positive conversations and hugs are great.  But I forget I am wearing the shirt after a while.  I was having dinner with friends one evening, and I remember at least 3 separate times someone grabbed me…

    Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s a collection of some of the questions I get most often, and my answers.  Please feel free to add your questions here too.  I will answer them and add them to the list.

    1) “How soon will I get my order?"

Usually, it takes about a week for your T-shirts to arrive.  Sometimes sooner, but usually no later than 7 to 10 days at the most.  We package and ship T-shirts within 48 to 72 hours after we receive the order.  We ship everything Priority Mail, and that takes 3 to 4 days.  We are based in Detroit, Michigan.  If you live in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, or another nearby state, you will get your T’s pretty quickly.  If you live in Texas, Florida, Arizona, or California, it will take a little longer.  Most people have said they receive their T’s within 4 to 5 days on average.

Also, please note that orders that are paid for using Money Orders, as well as orders that are paid for using the Paypal / checking account option, will take a little longer.  We must wait for payment to clear before we can ship your T-shirts.

Lastly, International orders and T-shirts sent to Military addresses can take up to 2 to 3 weeks - depending on the country.  Canadian orders usually take about 10 days.

    Good vs. Bad T-shirts

    Category: T-shirt & Website Info.
    Posted by Steve on 11/08/05

I guess figuring out the difference between a good T-shirt and a bad one seems pretty obvious for most people.  “A T-shirt that doesn’t shrink a couple of sizes after I’ve put it in the washing machine.” -or- “Something that won’t crack and fade after only a month or two of wearing it.” Ever got angry because that overpriced $35.00 Prince or Tupac T-shirt you bought back in the day didn’t last?  That’s because there are LOTS of T-shirt vendors out here; almost anybody can make a T-shirt now-a-days.  But only a few choose to do it correctly - using something other than cheap, poorly constructed T-shirts with bad ink that rubs off between your finger and thumb.  And this was done, quite simply, to save some money.

Identifying bad T-shirts really isn’t that hard.  Most informed shoppers can usually tell the difference.  And those that may not be able to tell must trust the person or company they buy from, and hope that their stuff is quality.

Since I make and sell T-shirts for a living, I thought I would go into a little more detail about common T-shirt concerns:
